SUL ROSS STATE University–Rio Grande College (RGC) is an upper-level undergraduate and graduate institution in the middle Rio Grande region of Texas and the Medina Valley, with a site in Castroville.
RGC offers 13 bachelor’s and six master’s degrees in applied science, business administration, education, liberal arts, and science, with more than half of the classes offered online or via teleconferencing. Four Distance Learning Centers at each campus provide real-time interaction between professor and students.
RGC celebrated the graduation of its first nursing students in May 2016. The RN to BSN completion program provides a path for working nurses to increase career and educational opportunities.
Rio Grande College is proud to serve minority, first-generation students in the southwest border region of Texas. Teachers can now complete a master's degree in education with a concentration in college teaching that meets the requirement for 18 hours of graduate work within the discipline for those who wish to teach dual credit or other college level courses.
Three sites are located on the campuses of Southwest Texas Junior College in Del Rio, Eagle Pass, and Uvalde. The fourth site is in the Higher Learning Center on the Medina Valley Independent School District campus in Castroville. The new facility expands RGC's reach to western San Antonio.
