SUL ROSS STATE UNIVERSITY Rio Grande College (RGC) is an upper-level, undergraduate and graduate institution in the southwest border region. RGC collaborates with Southwest Texas Junior College to provide many first-generation college students with an opportunity to complete a four-year degree.
RGC offers 13 bachelor’s degrees in applied science, business administration, education, liberal arts, nursing, and science, with more than half of the classes offered online or via teleconference. Four Distance Learning Centers at each campus provide real-time interaction between professor and students.
Master’s degrees in education include programs leading to principal and superintendent certification, bilingual teaching, and counseling. The master’s in college teaching provides pedagogy classes as well as 18 hours within the student’s chosen specialization. RGC’s online MBA accommodates working adults who are ready to expand their leadership and administrative skills in competitive business environments.
Three sites are located on the campuses of Southwest Texas Junior College in Del Rio, Eagle Pass, and Uvalde. The fourth site is in the Higher Learning Center on the Medina Valley Independent School District campus in Castroville, expanding RGC's reach to western San Antonio.
