THE UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON–Downtown (UHD) serves the educational needs of the nation’s fourth-largest city as Houston’s second-largest, public, four-year university. UHD provides a wealth of real-world opportunities for its students, while its nationally ranked programs offer an affordable, quality education that leads to solid careers for its graduates.

UHD offers bachelor’s degrees in 46 areas of study as well as twelve master’s degrees in four academic colleges. Classes are offered on the main UHD campus at One Main Street as well as at three satellite locations and online. Nineteen of UHD’s programs are fully online. Collaborative learning is enhanced by a 20:1 student/faculty ratio and undergraduate research opportunities with award-winning faculty.

Community engagement programs link academics with opportunities to serve in Houston and around the globe. Campus resources include club sports teams, a public art collection, more than seventy student organizations, and Greek and honor societies.

With one of the lowest tuition rates in Texas, UHD is affordable and accessible. UHD grads have the lowest debt in the Lone Star State, according to the Houston Chronicle. UHD boasts more than 65,000 UHD alumni, excelling in fields ranging from business to science, technology, criminal justice, and the humanities.
