THE UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS (UD) is a Catholic university for independent thinkers, with more than 1,440 undergraduates and one thousand graduate students.

Nationally recognized for its rigorous core curriculum, UD begins undergraduates’ education with nineteen liberal arts courses from several disciplines rooted in the Western tradition. This provides all undergraduates with a common foundation for furthering studies in one or more of thirty majors, ranging from philosophy to physics. UD emphasizes the development of critical thinking skills needed for lasting success. Within six months of graduation, more than 97 percent of graduates achieve their desired berth of a job, graduate or professional school, religious vocation, or military service.

UD believes that a foundational liberal arts education is best nurtured when students live, study, and learn together. Most undergraduate students are required to live on the Irving campus in one of nine residence halls or apartment complexes. Students hang out in the Rathskeller (the “Rat”) or the Cappuccino Bar, cheer on one of UD’s fifteen NCAA Division III athletic teams, or participate in intramural and recreational activities like rugby or swing dancing. Dallas’s restaurants, world class museums, and other entertainment options are just a short drive or light-rail ride away from the transit stop conveniently located on campus.
