BUILT NEAR AND FOR NASA Johnson Space Center, University of Houston–Clear Lake (UHCL) is a growing four-year institution, now in its 47th year. In addition to engineers, scientists, and astronauts, its 75,000-plus alumni include CEOs, civic leaders, humanitarians, educators, environmentalists, artists, and authors.

UHCL includes four colleges: business, education, human sciences and humanities, and science and engineering. The university offers three doctoral programs and more than ninety bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, including a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, a master’s in clinical mental health counseling, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in occupational safety and health. The College of Human Sciences and Humanities includes a Bachelor of Arts in serious games and simulations.

UHCL’s residence hall complements privately operated, on-campus apartments. The hall is adjacent to two new state-of-the-art facilities: the STEM and Classroom Building and the Recreation and Wellness Center. UHCL at Pearland is home to a health sciences and classroom building, while UHCL’s healthcare administration program operates from UHCL’s Texas Medical Center location.
Students explore a diverse cultural scene and varied social opportunities through more than one hundred campus organizations, including honor societies, leadership groups, and social clubs. Nearby parks and waterways offer hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, and other outdoor recreation.
