THE PERMIAN BASIN is one of the fastest growing, culturally vibrant, and economically invigorated regions of the country. At the academic heart of this revitalized area sits The University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB), delivering leaders every year into the Basin and across the U.S.
UTPB, a four-year university with just over six thousand students, is committed to connecting all graduates to industry through internship programs and job placement with some of the most successful companies in the country. The College of Business is AACSB-accredited.
UT Permian Basin officially opened a new engineering building in 2019. In 2020, the D. Kirk Edwards Family Human Performance Center opened its doors. The 63,000-square-foot facility houses the kinesiology department and athletic training program, and includes state-of-the-art classrooms and labs along with the men’s football and women’s soccer locker rooms.
