THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS RIO GRANDE VALLEY (UTRGV) has been ranked the top university in Texas by Washington Monthly. Many factors go into this prestigious recognition, including UTRGV’s ability to offer students an exceptional education for exceptional value.
UTRGV offers a dynamic learning environment featuring more than 125 undergraduate and graduate degrees spanning the arts and sciences. High-ranking programs include engineering, health professions, marine biology, and international business. As a Hispanic-Serving Institution, UTRGV is home to internationally recognized folkloric arts programs and a broad range of Latino and Hispanic studies.
UTRGV’s School of Medicine trains the next generation of physician leaders in medical education, scientific research, and patient care. With more than four hundred medical students, residents, and fellows currently serving in nineteen hospital-based training programs throughout the Valley, UTRGV is a leader in medical training in Texas and beyond. For high-achieving high school students across South Texas, Vaqueros MD provides a direct path to admission into the School of Medicine.
Admitted students with household incomes of $125,000 or less may be eligible to receive the UTRGV Tuition Advantage grant, a new program fully covering tuition and mandatory fees. This grant is partially why so many Vaqueros graduate with little to no student debt.
It’s an exciting time to be part of UTRGV and to join the future of Texas!
