The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) is located at the southernmost point of Texas, stretches to the beautiful Gulf Coast, and is part of a region rich in culture. UTRGV is unique in its ability to offer students an exceptional education for an exceptional value.
Admitted students with household incomes of $100,000 or less may be eligible to receive the UTRGV Tuition Advantage Grant, a new program fully covering tuition and mandatory fees. This grant is partially why so many Vaqueros graduate with little to no student debt.
From the Gulf Coast to deep space, UTRGV offers a dynamic learning environment featuring more than 125 undergraduate and graduate degrees spanning the arts and sciences. High-ranking programs include engineering, health professions, marine biology, and international business. As a Hispanic-Serving Institution, UTRGV is home to internationally recognized folkloric arts programs and a broad range of Latino and Hispanic studies.
UTRGV’s School of Medicine trains the next generation of physician leaders in medical education, scientific research, and patient care. With more than four hundred medical students, residents, and fellows currently serving in nineteen hospital-based training programs throughout the Rio Grande Valley, UTRGV is a leader in medical training in Texas and beyond. For high-achieving students across South Texas, Vaqueros MD provides a direct path to admission into the School of Medicine.
UTRGV is also home to the Vaqueros and sixteen NCAA Division I athletic programs. Its thriving campus environment offers students the opportunity to join more than 250 student organizations and cheer Western Athletic Conference Championship-winning teams.
