Austin College

Sherman, Texas

AUSTIN COLLEGE IS a private liberal arts college located just north of Dallas in Sherman. The college’s engaged, diverse student body of some 1,300 students is near enough to Dallas and Fort Worth to easily take advantage of “big city” internship and entertainment opportunities while enjoying the perks of small-town living.

A 12:1 student¬–faculty ratio and an average class size of fifteen allows students to act as partners in learning with expert faculty whose priorities are teaching and mentoring. Each student is connected with a faculty mentor before even arriving on campus, ensuring guidance and continued academic support throughout the college experience.

More than 55 areas of study are available, including recently added programs in data science and analytics, public health, kinesiology, neuroscience, and engineering physics. The Austin Teacher Program allows future teachers to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Arts in teaching in four-and-a-half years.

Austin College’s Compass curriculum meets the ever-changing needs of the 21st century and prepares students for a lifetime of success. All students—one hundred percent—are guaranteed a hands-on, applied learning experience supported by innovative programs.

The college’s Presbyterian Church (USA) heritage cultivates an inclusive atmosphere that supports all students’ faith journeys and commitments, regardless of tradition or background.
