Hardin-Simmons University

Abilene, Texas

FOUNDED IN 1891, Hardin-Simmons University (HSU) is a Christian university rated among the top private colleges in Texas. It offers students the chance to discover their God-given potential in an atmosphere that feels like home.

The beautifully landscaped campus in Abilene is a community with a small-town feel and genuine Southern hospitality. The campus includes plenty of green space like Anderson Lawn, with its reflection pond, gazebo, and trees that serve as home for daily campus activities, hammock hangs, study sessions, and live performances.

HSU’s five schools encompass liberal arts, science and mathematics, business and professional studies, health professions, and nursing, plus graduate programs. Its core liberal arts curriculum provides students with skills that employers desire such as critical thinking, strategic communication, and responsible leadership.

HSU offers more than fifty programs that match industry jobs and prepare students through partnerships and internships with employers to help land that top job after graduation. HSU combines a rich, challenging academic classroom environment with hands-on experiential learning using real-world applications.

With a warm and inviting atmosphere, more than forty organizations, and eighteen intramural and club sports, students connect through long-standing campus traditions and express themselves through the arts, music, or theater.

Students have the opportunity for personal development by equipping the mind, spirit, and body through leadership training, spiritual formation, community engagement, and student-led activities.
