SOUTHWESTERN CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (SWCC) is an accredited, Historically Black College that today is home to a diverse student body including African American, Hispanic, and international students. Dedicated to academic and spiritual development, SWCC embraces students upon arrival to campus and takes care to get to know them personally.

SWCC’s founders were motivated by the desire to prepare students for effective Christian living. The two-year liberal arts college offers associate degrees in biblical studies, history, humanities, English, music, and other subjects. SWCC also offers bachelor’s degrees in biblical and religious studies. A state-of-the-art recording studio has launched alumni into successful music careers. Some on-campus housing is available.

Despite its small size, SWCC offers honor societies, clubs, and organizations such as Phi Theta Kappa. The men’s and women’s basketball teams compete in Region V of the National Junior College Athletic Association.

SWCC is located in Terrell, a former railroad depot town that once linked East Texas to California. The Round House, an octagonal residence built in the 1800’s by Terrell’s founder and situated on campus, is a state and national historic landmark. Students benefit from SWCC’s proximity to three of the best fishing lakes in the state, and the campus is only twenty miles from Dallas’s museums, restaurants, and nightlife.
