A CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY and sister school to the University of Notre Dame, St. Edward’s University cultivates critical thinking, experiential learning, and social service among its four thousand students, most of whom are undergraduates.

The 160-acre hilltop campus overlooking downtown Austin recently welcomed new buildings including a library, a natural sciences center, and an auditorium. Newly renovated facilities include the Recreation and Athletics Center, chapel, and ministry building.

The John Brooks Williams Natural Sciences Center houses computer science, mathematics, and bioinformatics programs, while the 126-seat Carter Auditorium functions as a lecture and performance hall. The St. Edward’s Wild Basin Creative Research Center is an interdisciplinary natural resource laboratory that provides hands-on learning.

St. Edward’s is recognized as a Hispanic-Serving Institution and 39 languages are spoken on campus. The school offers more than fifty undergraduate programs, eight master’s degree programs, and a doctorate program.

The university’s goal is for all undergraduates to participate in advanced experiential learning. Its connections and partnerships in the dynamic workplace of Austin open doors to meaningful internships and jobs for students. St. Edward’s encourages study abroad and has a network of twenty partner universities in fifteen countries.
St. Edward’s takes pride in being a “Destination University for a More Just World.” Students are highly engaged in the university’s long-standing culture of service and social justice.
