Jarvis Christian College

Hawkins, Texas

JARVIS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY (JCU) offers degree programs in biology, business, chemistry, criminal justice, cybersecurity, education, English, history, interdisciplinary studies, kinesiology, mass communications, mathematics, nursing, religion, and social work. Two new graduate programs in business administration and criminal justice start in January 2023, marking the school’s transition from a college to a university.

With 110 years of educating students to build successful businesses and careers, JCU empowers many first-generation college students to become the first in their families to earn a college education, with distinguished faculty providing the attention these students deserve to ensure success.

Jarvis offers a music minor and active band and choir programs. Jarvis Bulldog student-athletes compete in the Red River Athletic Conference on fifteen NAIA Division I teams in baseball, softball, and volleyball, as well as men’s and women’s teams in basketball, cross country, soccer, track and field, and wrestling.

Founded as a Historically Black College and University in 1912, JCU today attracts a diverse and international population of lifelong learners onto its 243-acre campus in the Piney Woods of east Texas between Dallas and Shreveport. Its mission remains to prepare students intellectually, socially, spiritually, and personally through classroom, online, and/or hybrid instructional delivery modes to wherever students live.
