Southwestern Assemblies of God University

Waxahachie, Texas

SOUTHWESTERN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD University (SAGU) is a Christian institution that remains committed to excellent Bible-based education. More than seventy academic programs are offered through SAGU’s colleges of Bible and church ministries, business and education, and music and communication arts. Programs include health sciences, criminal justice, social work, digital media arts, and math education. Small class sizes and a student–faculty ratio of 15:1 create a personal, comfortable learning environment.

SAGU is strong both academically and biblically. The education department demonstrates a one hundred percent state-certification passing rate, and SAGU is one of only 210 schools in the world to reach All-Steinway status.

SAGU offers men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, and cross county as well as football, baseball, softball, volleyball, cheerleading, and esports. Waxahachie’s historic downtown district is full of shops and restaurants, and many students travel the short distance to Dallas for sports and arts events. In a recent survey, 92 percent of students expressed a “great sense of connection and community at SAGU,” and 94 percent of graduating seniors said that they would “recommend the university to prospective students.”
